Designing for the casino’s table games presents a unique set of challenges, and DiMonte Group has been tackling these challenges head-on for over two decades. Our wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of our clients’ needs empower us to drive innovation in the table game industry.
The Product
Imagine a poker chip tray that can be retrofitted into any existing casino table that accurately counts the value of chips present with the press of a button. Gaming Partners International hired us to design such a product. It uses PCBA antennas hidden underneath the chip trays to count the chips, and features a top tray that lifts out like a tackle box revealing a 2nd layer of chip storage. Using our expertise in design for manufacturing, we developed parts for plastic injection molding, sheet metal bending, and machining and delivered production-ready geometry and 2D drawings.
Some notable DiMonte Group improvements include:
- Concealing and protecting internal sensors
- Incorporating subtle styling and designated spots for the GPI logo
- Enhancing the security and durability of the lid locking mechanism
- Optimizing chip tray geometry for maximum capacity and easier chip handling
- Reinforcing hinges and side walls for more stable and consistent tray movement
- Adjusting the incline of the top chip tray to prevent chips from shifting during movement
- Introducing larger, ergonomic handles that retract beneath the tray surface to stay out of the way
- Adding rubber bumpers in areas with metal-on-metal contact
